FIRST, I stepped out singing a song.

I am a Cardiff based graduate of L'Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, where I completed the professional programme under Jos Houben, Paoula Rizza, Jason Turner, Francois Lecoq, Suzanna Lestratto and Christophe Marchant. During this period, I also co-founded the award winning Rhum and Clay Theatre Company.

I am the current associate artist at the Newbury Corn Exchange Theatre101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space and The Artrix Arts Centre.

I have also been an associate lecturer at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Northampton University and currently Winchester University.

Projects for 2019 include:

  • Joining carnival company Shademakers UK, running community partnership and movement direction rehearsals for the St. Patricks day parades in Armagh and Belfast as part of an EU funded peace project.

  • Working with The Riverfront Theatre in Newport, South Wales to direct a new outdoor commission called The Last Post for The Big Splash Festival 2019.

  • Collaborating with Arts Council Wales, Lead Creative Schools and Ysgol Herbert Thompson to create a site specific version of Beowulf inspired by the forest at Castell Coch to improve levels in reading.

  • Joining the team at Boom Town as the director of second level animation on Paradise Heights.

  • Working with Green Man Festival and 6Foot Stories in the Brecon Beacons on The Complete Compendium of Human Culture. This will be a new piece of outdoor street clowning work, to be premiered at the festival in August 2019.

  • Joining Ami-Jade Cadilac of Lavish Designs to direct TUNDRA as part of the opening spectacle at Latitude Festival. This will involve a 20ft woodland creature that gets awaken onsite in a pagan ritualistic ceremony be the elders of planet earth, before beginning a procession across site. The piece will deal with issues of climate change, compassion and ageing and we’re going to be looking at working with a community ensemble of older people aged 60+ to take along to the festival, providing cultural enrichment and the opportunity to perform as part of the spectacle.

  • I’m also going to be one of the artistic curators for The Kingdom Project which will be happening in 2020 in Hay on Wye alongside Glen Matlock, Max Reinhardt and Don Letts. For 2019 I will be bringing TUNDRA there as part of the larger, fully realised project.

  • For Autumn/Winter I will be creating two new pieces of work in Bromsgrove in collaboration with Bromsgrove District Council and the Artrix Arts Centre. The first will be a Calan Gaef Garden, The second will be The Festival of Light 2019 lantern procession.

  • I will also be running The Burning of the Dark as a Creative Producer in partnership with Birmingham District Council and Kings Heath BID. This will be a large scale outdoor Christmas processional performance, based on the myth of the Tibetan yeti.
